West Track Studios is a part of Skillnet Group Community Interest Company. We support people with and without learning difficulties to work together equally to develop projects and support networks and to challenge attitudes about disability.

Services we offer:

•Rehearsal space and multimedia conference facility
•Courses in music production and media studies that can be tailored for any ability.
•Multi-sensory interactive workshops.
•Music workshops – group and individual sessions for anyone.
•Visit days to the studio.
•Recording parties with or without Ben Mills from the X Factor.
•Recording with a resident producer/engineer.
•HD video recording of live gigs such as school plays
•Bulk duplication of CDs and DVDs, including on-body printing and colour sleeves

Sustainable features:

•F5 low energy lighting
•Accessible toilets supplied by harvested rainwater
•Electricity supplied by Good Energy
•Close to the train station and bus routes
•Secure storage space for bicycles.
•Recycling area- we aim to be zero waste by 2011.
•Solar (photo-voltaic) panels (Once the panels are in place we will also install charging points for electric bikes.)

Our aim is to make the studios completely sustainable and carbon-neutral. We want to develop a community resource that is also a centre of excellence around environmental/green issues.

We want to educate the local community, including people with learning difficulties about these issues so that people will think more about their own impact on the environment and how they can reduce their carbon footprint.
