La Rosa ~ Campsite Extraordinare! Welcome Summary Early in 2004 we were given the opportunity to long term rent a wonderful area of land in The North Yorkshire Moors National Park nr Whitby.We decided from the beginning that the campsite should be constructed from recycled, reclaimed and found objects. Our 20 acre site is specifically designed to be low impact and environmentally aware of this area of outstanding beauty. With this in mind, the camping is low energy (candles and fairy lights), low pollution (no nasty chemicals or generators) and respectful to wildlife (the quieter you are the more chance you have of seeing the deer). Our showers are in a converted byre, the compost loo is in a original vintage wooden shepherds hut and we have an open air roll-top bath in the orchard area. We like to hope that being green does not mean you can't be comfy, have a laugh or eat chocolate cake. The site has a limited number of visitors at a time, making it undercrowded.
