Sun & Doves Summary THE SUN AND DOVES was set up in 1995 by Mark Dodds and instantly became Camberwell's favourite bar. We were the first pub south east of the Thames to serve good quality modern food and drink in cool contemporary surroundings and one of the first bars in the country to hold art exhibitions regularly.We started out as a restaurant bar and gallery but the phrase gastro pub was invented and applies to us. We stick with - food drink art - because that is what we do. We serve a very wide range of drinks, from fresh juices, Fair Trade coffees, teas and infusions to an exceptionally good wine list chosen by Mark with help from the staff. We serve premium spirits and do excellent cocktails as well as draught ale, keg and bottled beers. Imaginative bar snacks and light to full meals are available every day from midday to late evening.
Tuesday nights we show art films for free; Wednesday is the quiz, Friday and Saturday late bar with Dj's on Saturday and the first Sunday of every month the Jazzuits play their great original music live on stage with a jam session following. Jamie Cullum played here twice because he likes it so much.
