Cloughjordan Ecovillage Summary Ireland's first ecovillage is being created by a community of people committed to ecological, social and economic sustainability.Our 67 acre development in Cloughjordan will include an extensive area for woodland and wildlife, allotments, three community buildings and a commercial area on Market Square focusing on ecological services, education and training.
Becoming a member of the Village offers an opportunity to live in a unique community with a superb quality of life. After several years of planning, the infrastructure phase is now complete and we are ready to begin building homes later this year. There are still some sites left but they are expected to sell out soon.
If you wish to find out more about the project, you can visit us in Cloughjordan at one of our regular experience days. This will provide you with an opportunity to learn more about the project, walk the land and meet some members. The experience day looks at all aspects of the project, including a project overview, a tour of the nursery and allotment area, business opportunities for new members, house designs and available sites in the project.
